The CDOkada 1st Anniversary Meetup

It’s been a year!

At around 2o’clock in the afternoon, people have started signing up on the registration sheet and of course, on the name tags! They also did this while surrendering the things that they want to donate.

Carlo(@carlobee), Dawn(@dawniaa), Sarah(@sarahwantstotravel) and Phil(@phlipphlop) went to order food! Jollibee food! YAY

The usual “Get To Know You” phase of the meetup was started. Everybody introduced themselves, gave out the history of their Tumblr ID, explained who influenced them to use Tumblr, etc. Games were also participated by the members. Parlor games!

What’s a meetup without food? There was an overabundance of French fries, Jolly hotdogs, Peach Mango pies, Iced tea (Healthy Living 2011) and Sundaes. We ate everything that we could though. (So much for ordering Iced tea instead of Coke.) Not everything was consumed, we decided to take it out and we gave them to the street children afterwards.

Other games and activities were done after the eating time such as Pinoy Henyo, Charades, Anonymous questions, “Like” a person you want to get to know more, Freedom Illustration Board. Photo ops!!! The Editor of Gold Star Daily Newspaper along with a contributor also joined the event.

By the end of the Meetup, we were able to gather a lot of donations. Books, notebooks, clothes, school bags, etc. Perfect for the Kids! Some people went home afterwards, some of us went to party! Yay. (The after-party will be posted in a different blog post.)

Good job, CDOkada! It just goes to show that we can have fun whilst also helping the needy. “Til the next meetup! It has been an awesome year for us!

    2. Cdo Tumblr Meetups

    • 1 o'clock pm in a hot summer afternoon in Cagayan de Oro City sixteen amazing people gathered up at Bo's Coffee Club, Rosario Arcade Limketkai Center on the first day of May 2010. Cagayan de Oro's first ever Tumblr Meetup was a success. +
