SENDONG RELIEF OPS UPDATES & CONCERNS:
FOOD DONATIONS: Please be informed that there are a number of our Muslim brothers and sisters who were also affected by TS Sendong. Hence, as much as possible, please AVOID sending goods that contain PORK as everybody will not be able to eat it.
Also, it is highly encouraged that ready-to-eat meals (i.e. packed meals) or goods be donated instead of food that still needs to be cooked.
BABY STUFFS. We also have a good number of families affected by the typhoon who have newborn babies, so if you can kindly donate milk, diapers, and baby food for these infants, please do.
WATER. WATER. WATER. As much as possible, if you have water in your homes, kindly share with others who don’t have. And please indicate if it is drinking water or otherwise to avoid any sickness. If you know any water refilling stations in your area, please share the information with others.
CLOTHING DONATIONS: While a number of OLD clothes were donated, they also need NEW underwear, especially women and children. Sleeping mats and blankets are very much welcome! Also slippers please!
TRAUMA COUNSELING: This is an urgent NEED as well for those who survived and lost their loved ones. We have very few psychologists and counselors in CDO and Iligan. Members of peer facilitating orgs in their schools are also encouraged to volunteer.
DONATING MADE EASY: Still many are UNAWARE that even LBC accepts donations to be delivered for FREE. Kindly encourage everyone to give during this Season of Hope.
We may not be able to make this holiday season completely merry for everybody, but at least let’s all try our best to help ease each other’s burden. PLEASE REPOST/SHARE. Thank you.
